Police spotted leaving west Hull home with huge sacks of cannabis after raid


Police seized huge quantities of cannabis during a raid on a property in west Hull on Saturday.

Four police vehicles, including three patrol cars and a riot van, attended a house in Goddard Avenue, off Newland Avenue, having identified a cannabis set up, just after 12pm.

Officers forced entry through the front door of the property, but one man fled from the scene before being arrested and detained nearby. He currently remains in police custody.

Residents in the west Hull terrace watched on from their windows as Humberside Police officers spent the afternoon searching the property and seizing large quantities of drugs.

Police could be seen bringing out large transparent plastic bags filled with cannabis from the property and into the street placing them into the vehicles parked outside.

The bags completely filled the boots of the cars meaning officers had to place the excess contraband on the back seats of their vehicles.

A statement released by Humberside Police statement said: “Officers attended a property on Goddard Avenue in Hull at 12.15pm today, Saturday, March 28.

“On arrival officers located a cannabis set up in the property.

“One man fled from the scene and was later detained and arrested. He remains in police custody.”
