“Firefighters immediately set up defensive operations, and crews worked through the night to get the fire under control”
A fire broke out at a medical cannabis facility in St. Catharines, Ont. on Wednesday.
Firefighters managed to save the attached greenhouse and everything in it, but the barn, which served as a storage and processing area, was destroyed.
“When the crews arrived, they were presented with a significantly large fire,” Deputy Chief Dave Upper told St. Catharines Standard. “They immediately set up defensive operations, and crews worked through the night to get the fire under control.”
Although the name of the facility at 376 Read Road was not revealed, the site is a Health Canada approved legal operation, Upper confirmed.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
