Bust leads to one arrest, 3,000 pounds of pot found – Red Bluff Daily News

RED BLUFF — A drug bust conducted Tuesday by the Tehama County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation turned up 9,665 marijuana plants in Cottonwood.

According to a press release issued Wednesday by the bureau, law enforcement identified the owner of the property at the 18000 block of Lone Wolf Drive as Kong Peng Vang, 56, of Cottonwood.

Vang was arrested on suspicion of maintaining a place to sell drugs, possession of marijuana for sale and for the cultivation of the plant. The release said Vang was also cited for multiple code violations.

Upon searching the property which was surrounded by large tents canopying over the cannabis plants, officers found 2,500 pounds of marijuana shake used for making concentrates and an additional 500 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, the release said.

A semi-automatic weapon was also found at the site.

“Further investigation revealed evidence of Vang selling marijuana clone starter plants and setting up greenhouses for other marijuana growers in the area in addition to his own marijuana operation,” the release said.

Authorities seized $1,300 in cash as well as an unnamed vehicle and a trailer.
